She arrived from New Hampshire sometime in the early 90s. Before betrayals and bruises, when love held as much possibility as her cultured stamens; the rhizomes of what could be and what might be cultivated across rows for taking. She — taken, planted, dug-up, divided, transplanted again and again — still blooming after all these years.
