All Shall Be Well

“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well.”

Thank you for the introduction, JB. XOXO Julian of Norwich (1342-c.1416) is known almost only through her book, The Revelations of Divine Love, which is widely acknowledged as one of the great classics of the spiritual life. She is thought to have been the first woman to write a book in English which has survived, and is considered a great mystic and teacher. Her name is taken from St. Julian’s Church in Norwich where she lived as an anchoress — a person called to a solitary life. It is here she devoted her life to prayer and contemplate. Her sole company is reported to have been a beloved cat with whom she is most often depicted.
