the spirit in me
meets the spirit in you
there kitty-cornered
in a thought space
where Eames chairs
flank the walls
and a black and white
television hums
Synchronicity
dream room
waiting room
weigh station
my baggage
is tucked neatly
in the overhead bin
so you can’t see it;
yours is, too,
but it’s prettier than mine—
her smile is lovely
dream room
waiting room
weigh station
I don’t want to know you
so I curl up fetal
and face the wall,
but you wrap your arms around me
and we sit watching strangers pass—
this spirit in me
with the spirit in you
